Astounding news – my father, who voted twice for Bush, says he’s voting for Hillary Clinton in the next election (he assumes, as do many, that she’ll be running). He just finished reading "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" and was stunned and dismayed to learn about U.S. foreign policy and its cozy relationship with big business. Dad also was a big supporter of the war, but now the death toll just sickens him. In the last election, he cared mostly about who was going to give him a tax cut. If he’s an everyman bellwether, the GOP had better watch out.

Wow. That is an interesting turn of events. I'm still scared of the way things are going, though, because even though the Republican governor's propositions didn't pass in California, they were CLOSE. 50/50 close. And this is a LIBERAL state. I'm still worried that there's just no room in this country for people who think we shouldn't sanction the teaching of Biblical myths as science in our schools, should allow women to decide when to bear children, and don't feel that shooting people in other parts of the world makes us safer.
But what REALLY concerns me right now is WHAT'S UP WITH NICK'S MUSTACHE ON CSI??? BLECH! Wait to spoil the pretty.
