We went to Christmas Mass at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, which was the greatest thing ever. We didn't have to run like crazy people to make it to church on Christmas morning and fight for a pew with semi-practicers who turn up once or twice a year.
As we waited for Mass to begin, we brought Little Big Man up to see the manger scene. "Baby Jesus isn't here yet," we explained. "His birthday is tomorrow." When we got back to the pew, we got a chorus of "Happy birthday, Baby Jesus" from Little Big Man. Then later during Mass, "Baby Jesus. Nooooooo," followed by emphatic head-shaking.
